Daily Creates
Daily Create #1
Drawing without lifting the pencil:
The first daily create I chose was a drawing. I am a horrible artist. I have no illistrative ability at all. But this course is about challenging yourself so I decided to tell myself to take a risk with my creates. When I thought about what I should draw I figured I should stick with lines. Lines would be the easiest way to draw without picking up my pencil. Once I decided on lines I thought of balloon strings. From there I thought of the movie "Up". So I decided to draw a lounge chair with balloons and someone trying to float away. Once I started drawing I realized that there was no way I could draw someone laying on this chair ha ha. I found it very hard to not lift the pen from the paper. I did pick it up a few times but only to reposition my arm. I placed the pen back in the same place. I had to retrace certain spots to draw more of the picture so some lines are thicker than others. It was hard to retrace the same lines and figure out how to draw more of the picture. I have to say I am pretty proud of myself, it doesn't look so bad. So this is my end result.
Daily Create #2
Create instructions for an everyday task:
I have decided to create a list of instructions for my nightly routine. I am a little obsessed with my skin. I have had acne since I was 15, so I struggle to keep my skin clear. I have a long nightly routine that I think anyone could follow to have soft smooth (usually blemish free) skin.
Step 1: Wipe face with a sensitive skin make up remover wipe. Make sure to get off all makeup, especially eye makeup.
Step 2: Wash face with acne medicated face wash. Use warm water to wet cleansing brush, then wet face. Apply face wash to face and use cleansing brush to wash face. Wash off cleanser with cool water and dry face with a clean towel.
Step 3: After face is dry use an exfoliating peel on face. Scrub the peel onto face to get rid of top layer of dead skin. Wipe the peel and dead skin off with a wet wash cloth.
Step 4: Now use a face mask and apply to face evenly. Leave face mask on for 15 minutes. Wash face mask off with cool water and dry face with a dry clean towel.
Step 5: After face is dry apply an anti blemish lotion ( I use Clinique all over acne treatment)
Step 6: After 5 minutes of allowing the lotion to sink in apply a night cream all over face and neck.
Step 7: After the night cream sinks in apply blemish cream to any existing blemishes.
Step 8: Allow 5 minutes for everything to sink in and then go to sleep!

Eye Selfie:
So this create was personally risky for me because I am not a selfie kind of person. I find that selfies are for insecure people who need attention and want people to "like" their portrait. I'm not saying that people shouldn't take selfies, sometimes I think they are a nice way to showcase a new hair cut or outfit. But besides that I think selfies are a cry for attention and I am just not a fan of them. I also find vanity to be a false virtue. I don't think we should be so obsessed with looks. So I figured I don't normally take selfies so why not try out an eye selfie. I used my phone and I had fun using one of my apps Aviary to brighten and fix the tone of the image. I am getting better at embedding images into my blog now. I need to learn how to embed more things into my blog now. So here is my eye selfie.
Daily Create #4
5 in 1 story
I am a book nerd. On average I read a book a week. I am constantly looking up new books and popular authors. So when I saw this daily create I figured that this would be a perfect create for me because I have a bookshelf full of books I have read or will read in the future. Below is the story I created by following the instructions from the Daily Create Bank.
A Hot Summer from Childhood
"The city is broiling in an early summer heat wave and for the third day in a row Victoria buys a salad from the Korean market around the corner and has lunch at her desk." "There were tangles of Christmas lights strung across the yard, even though it was prom weekend, and they shimmered in reflection on the murky lake water." "My father set up a corporate entity called Thistledown International Limited in the Virgin Islands as the vehicle for his investments." "Her hat rubbed against my cheek and I was so startled that I almost missed what she said next." "Lastly, she pictured to herself how this same little sister would, in the after-time, be herself a grown woman; and how she would keep, through all her riper years, the simple and loving heart of her childhood; and how she would gather about her other little children, and make their eyes bright and eager with many a strange tale, perhaps even with the dream of wonderland of long ago; and how she would feel with all their simple sorrows, and find pleasure in all their simple joys, remembering her own child-life, and the happy summer days."
Book 1: Summer Sisters by Judy Bloom
Book 2: The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider
Book 3: In My Shoes by Tamara Mellon
Book 4: The Unchangeable Spots of Leopards by Kristopher Jansma
Book 5: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
