Blog #2

This week is the second week of Boot Camp.

While on the ds106 website I was reading what I needed to do for week 2.

I played around with my blog for a while. I took the time to decide on fonts and colors. I tried out different layouts and moved a few things around. After doing all of that I changed most of the things back to the original way I had them. It was good to learn how to do those things but I mainly stuck with my new fonts and colors. I liked the blog the way I had set it up the first time. I did put up an image and add a quote from Henry David Thoreau. Thats about the biggest change I made.

The second part of the bootcamp was to do our first Daily Create. I went to the ds106 twitter to find out what the daily creates were all about. I'll admit I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of tweets and I did choose an easy one. But I promise to tackle harder tasks in the future once I get more comfortable. I did something called a Word Painting.

My word painting is a picture of my dog. I guess its almost like a meme. Roxie is always hogging my bed. She thinks of it as her bed. She keeps all of her toys in my room as if it is her room and she is constantly giving me funny looks when I want to sit on MY BED. So I made the perfect word painting to describe what I think she would say if she could talk.

I am going to be frank with this GIF thing. I gave up. I had an extremely stressful week and when I downloaded this software that I googled to make a Gif and the software wouldn't open up on my computer I was livid. I gave up and never looked back. I figured I would ask for someone's help in class and then figure it out. Christina came to my rescue. She showed me a much easier way to make a Gif. I admit that I am a bit ashamed for giving up seeing that this is a self driven course. After Professor Lucci's pep talk last week I promised myself that I won't give up on these assignments no matter how frustrated I get. Here is my Gif below.
